Walking Club & Memory Cafe – Countryside Mall
March 1, 2018

Walking is proven to delay cognitive decline if done for as little as 20 mins a day, five times a week. Add in some friends, a beautiful mall, and a scavenger hunt—that’s Countryside walking club.

If you are living with dementia, join Dr. Cate and the Dunedin memory café folks for a great walk, good engagement, and fun. Meet at the Red Robin entrance of the Countryside Mall. We will start walking right at 10:00am but will have someone waiting to get you started and help to locate the others so you may join them. If you do not want to walk, join us for lunch at Red Robin at 11:15am.

Living with dementia can be a challenge with fading social opportunities. Memory Cafes were started to give folks a safe and judgment-free space to share the journey. Cate McCarty, Ph.D., also known as Dr. Cate, Dementia Coach, presents a comfortable and engaging environment.

If you, a friend, or loved one has memory problems, and/or you have recently been diagnosed with dementia, you are invited to attend. Non-professional care companions are welcome. Join us for a change of pace, a chance to meet interesting new people, and relax & rejuvenate.

Dr. Cate brings a 40-year background in dementia care and quality of life to the monthly gathering along with the opportunity to reminisce and engage. RSVPs are nice but not necessary.

Countryside Memory Café and Walking Club is FREE to attend and is located at the Westfield Countryside Mall, 27001 US Hwy 19 N Ste 1039, Clearwater, FL 33761
