Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria – Study Details

Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU)

Chronic hives, also known as Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria, are red, raised, and often itchy welts that appear on the skin without a known trigger. Unlike allergic reactions or infections, CSU can persist for six weeks or longer and may come and go unpredictably. The condition is not life-threatening, but the persistent itch and discomfort can interfere with daily activities, focus, and sleep. While there is no cure, certain treatments can help manage symptoms for those who do not respond to standard antihistamines.

CSU causes ongoing hives and swelling without a known cause. The itching can be intense, making everyday life uncomfortable and sleep difficult. Relief is possible through new therapies now being studied.
