Alopecia Areata – Study Details

Alopecia Areata

Alopecia Areata is an autoimmune condition that causes sudden, patchy hair loss on the scalp and sometimes on other parts of the body. The hair loss typically appears as smooth, round patches and may gradually merge into larger areas. Unlike male or female pattern baldness, this condition affects both genders and can begin at any age. While not physically painful, the emotional and psychological impact of Alopecia Areata can be significant, especially when over 50 percent of the scalp is affected.

Alopecia Areata leads to unpredictable hair loss that can affect self-image and confidence. Though the cause is immune-related and not scarring, the effects can be deeply personal.
